Write something to suit yourself and many people will like it; write something to suit everybody and scarcely anyone will care for it. - Jesse Stuart |

Want to submit a story? We are always delighted to post other work here on the site in the categories of Character Fiction, Dreamscape, Down the Pub and Potpourri. Below are a few hints to help you decide if this is the right site for your work:
We welcome submissions of character fan fiction, predominantly but not solely, concerning the film creations of Russell Crowe. Original works of erotic fiction are also much appreciated. If you are writing in the fan-fiction genre, we urge that you keep your character faithful to the screen and/or book image, using appropriate dialogue and mannerisms, concepts and notions about the man and his character that are realistic within the scope of his revealed personality and any future growth beyond the limits of the film or book(s). Interesting use of aspects of details mentioned in the film, clever reworking of well known dialogue or applying them to other situations is highly recommended. Previews and sequels, interludes not seen within the film, flashbacks and unusual approaches also make for good ideas. As for the erotic aspect, we are fairly open to all graphic and consensual sex scenes as long as they are not inappropriate to the character and his likely parameters of behaviour. (ie no Hando in a pink tutu etc...) However, a thinly disguised sex romp, without a narrative to sustain it, is not really what we are looking for. If your story stands up without the sex and is merely enhanced by it- that is by far a more compelling short story and more of the type of story we are looking for on this site which is largely story driven. Other sites deal more solely with sexual fantasy.
This is a new idea somewhere between fan-fiction stories and diaries. The notion is this: Do you have a desire to meet a character in your real existence either for a one-off meeting or occasional visits or a series of developed stories? There is no need to join or take up membership with an existing group- simply write your fantasy and submit it to us. We do however have the right to choose which dreams we post. The site is looking for imaginative and inventive use of the characters and strong story lines to support the narrative. Sex only and unlikely situations and declarations are rather limited and tedious after a while. We want something a little different and more compelling. This isn't just open season for Mary Sue! Be creative. Let your imagination run wild!
No submission are being accepted for Out of Eden at this time. Sorry!
We do on occasion accept works based on Russell Crowe the man or other real persons but this is the exception rather than the rule. On the whole we do not see this site as the best place for them - there are other sites that represent this genre well. We reserve the right to post RPF at our own discretion and will not enter into discussion if such work is rejected. However, we do gladly accept work that we refer to as "Inspired by" Fiction. A lot of stories that begin with a real person as the inspiration are easily made less intrusive simply by changing the name and a few details of the life so as not to expose the real actor's friends and family, nor his own life, to so much speculation. This is generally what DBB would require before stories of this genre were accepted.
Guidelines for all fiction submissions We are both busy authors ourselves and do not think it our job to beta work sent to us or heavily edit stories. If you need a beta reader or editor then we suggest you find a friend to do the honours before you submit the story and will not be able to consider work that is blatantly carelessly put together. I know it is a contentious issue for some but we think that all authors, at whatever stage of learning the craft, must take responsibility for their own mastering of spelling, grammar and word usage. However we are pleased to read work and make helpful suggestions as to where we think you can enhance and strengthen a story, if you wish for this advice, to enable us to post the work. For formatting purposes, submissions must be in attachments in a text format that does not leave a space between paragraphs. We prefer whole stories and will not post serials unless each story is a complete stand-alone work. Submission does not guarantee publication and there is no payment for work posted. We do not wish to engage in heated discussion of work that is not accepted but will endeavour to give clear and reasoned explanations which we hope you will accept graciously in the spirit that they were given. Of course we will take every precaution not to allow stories which are plagiarized to appear- should anyone have any doubts then send us the link so that we can judge for ourselves- we haven't read everything out there!! May we particularly extend an invitation to first time writers who may be feeling a little shy about having a go? Writing is a wonderful interest and this sort of material can be a prelude to other things- who knows! We would love to introduce some new talent whatever your character interest is. Finally thank you in advance to anyone who submits work to us and Good Luck! There is so much untapped talent and creativity out there and we would so like to encourage it!!
